Facade projects engineered for demanding climates

Every project below was engineered around a specific climate problem rather than pulled from a catalogue. A tower on the Dubai waterfront has to survive salt-laden humidity and hurricane-driven rain. A commercial core in Nairobi sits in a steady diurnal breeze that can be harvested for shading. A cultural pavilion in Doha must hold its geometry through Shamal winds and 50 °C summer heat. The facade system changes accordingly, and so does the fixing strategy, the alloy and the finish.

What we deliver on a typical project

INDECO works as the facade specialist inside the design team, not as an afterthought at tender stage. That means early involvement in setting performance targets, then carrying them through fabrication and installation. Our scope typically covers:

  • System selection and specification. Choosing between a kinetic louver facade, unitised glazed curtain wall and aluminum cladding based on wind, solar and acoustic targets.
  • Performance modelling and testing. Structural wind load, air infiltration, water penetration and cyclic movement, validated against ASTM and EN standards before site delivery.
  • Factory fabrication. Unitised modules are glazed, sealed and quality-checked under factory conditions, which removes weather risk from the critical path.
  • Installation supervision. Site teams work to the same tolerances the modules were built to, which is where most facade warranties are won or lost.

Where we work

Our project base is concentrated in East Africa and the Middle East — the UAE, Qatar, Kenya and neighbouring markets — where high cooling loads and strong winds make dynamic and high-performance envelopes genuinely economic rather than decorative. We ship worldwide and support projects in local units, local codes and local approval processes.

Judging whether a system is right for your building

A kinetic facade earns its place where there is consistent wind and a premium on solar control or architectural identity. Unitised glazing suits repetitive, high-rise geometry where speed of erection and factory quality matter most. Aluminum cladding is usually the value answer for soffits, podiums, screening and retrofit over an existing substrate. Most of our projects use two of the three, and the detailing between them is where the real engineering happens.

How to read these case studies

Each project page sets out the climate problem, the system chosen and the verified performance figures — wind load, water tightness, acoustic and thermal values — rather than marketing superlatives. If you are comparing systems, the most useful pages to read together are the Dubai waterfront glazing case and the Nairobi kinetic louver case, because they show two different answers to the same brief of cooling load and wind exposure.
